How do we use your personal information?

We process your personal information:

To provide and maintain the Data Finland Services for you, including to monitor the usage of the Data Finland Services.

To manage your account as a user of the Data Finland Services. The Personal Data you provide in the registration process can give you access to different feature of the Data Finland Services that are available to you as a registered user.

To contact you by email, telephone calls, SMS, or other equivalent forms of electronic communication regarding updates or informative communications related to the functionalities of Data Finland Services, including the security updates and only when necessary or reasonable.

To manage your requests to us for delivering the Data Finland Services for you.

For organizational or business transfers: We may use your information to evaluate or conduct a restructuring, reorganization, or other transfer in which Personal Data held of the Data Finland Service users is among the assets transferred.

What dependencies do we have for third party service providers?

We use Cidaas as an authentication provider. Familiarize with the privacy policy of Cidaas here.

Data Finland Services contain links also to other websites that are not controlled by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland, e.g. Github for accessing data definitions. How do we use cookies?

We use cookies only for the necessary functions to be able to provide Data Finland Services for you. We don’t use cookies to track your Internet usage after leaving our site or any other unnecessary purposes than just for providing the Data Finland Services for you. The Data Finland Developer portal uses the access_token and id_token received in the authentication token from the authentication provider.

All Personal data of Data Finland Service users is stored in the area of the European Union.

Will your information be disclosed to third parties?

We may share your personal information to 3rd parties in the following situations:

With Service Providers: We may share your personal information with other Service Providers to provide and maintain and provide the Data Finland Service features for you.

With affiliates: We may share your information with our affiliates, in which case we will require those affiliates to honor this Privacy Policy. Affiliates include or other Ministries, governmental agencies (new or existing) partners or other businesses.

With other users: when you share personal information or otherwise interact in the public areas of Data Finland Services (such as community support channels) with other users, such information may be viewed by other users.

With your consent: We may disclose your personal information for other purposes with your consent.
